The innocent blood cries out!

Blood is the life of us all! Our Lord poured out His life for the redemption of man, and for the remission of sin to cleanse us of all unrighteousness.

We first learn of how blood is life early in scripture when Cain killed his brother Abel we see Abels blood cried out to God from the ground and was heard! (Genesis 4:8-10) And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

We see the widow, fatherless and the stranger is seen by God as ones who are to be protected and in the book of Jeremiah the King of Judah was to execute judgment and righteousness over the innocent blood of the land! (Jeremiah 22:1-3) Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word, And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates: Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

In Revelation at the fifth seal we see the power of the blood when the soul’s who were slain for the word of God asking how long till there blood would be avenged on those who dwell on the earth? (Revelation 6:9-11) And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Our Lord was known as innocent blood in the earth and even though Judas regretted having betrayed Him by trying to return the thirty pieces of silver, he was so distraught he hung himself and was buried in the field of blood also known as Potters field (Matthew 27:1-8).

There are none more innocent than those who have no voice and are taken by abortion. God knows each and every soul He has created and is deeply grieved by the loss of those who never had the chance at life!

(Psalm 71:4-7) Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth. By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee. I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.

Thank you for sharing these deep reflections on the symbolism of blood in Scripture. It’s a powerful reminder of Christ’s sacrifice and the importance of justice and life. May we continue to reflect on these truths and live them out in our faith. God Bless You today and always.
