At the altar of conformity

At the altar of conformity it is so easy to claim christianity without actually having the faith it takes to be a christian. Churches today have incorporated so many teachings and things which are not of God, such as bazaars, bingo, raffles and the marrying of men to men and women to women. ( Romans 1:26-32). Even the music has changed from the singing of Godly hymns to a band playing a concert, all to appeal to the people. Many flock to this new way of serving God, since they offer so much other than the teaching of the true gospel of Christ. Would not our Lord today overturn the money changers as He did so long ago? And will He find faith when He returns? (Luke 18:7,8) And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Many serve weekly at the altar of conformity, mainly out of convenience. The worlds churches that many attend allow them to serve God once a week for an hour. This allows a person to serve God 52 hours a year! Does not scripture teach us we are to serve God daily? Is it not written Christ is our daily bread? For some this writing will offend them, but our Lord knew His word would be offensive, causing some to no longer walk with Him ( John 6:60-66) Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

There are a myriad of people who seem to of forgotten the scripture “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” or “Love one another”. At the altar of conformity it allows one to look upon another and not see they are hurting or harming them as though God does not see and know their heart and actions! (Proverbs 24:10-12) If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

The true church of God is not a visible one but is a spiritual church, and by faith in the unseen has God through His people built His temple (1 Corinthians 3:9-17) For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. ( 1 Peter 2:4-10).

My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace. (Jeremiah 50:6).
