Don’t Carry Guilt

How many carry around guilt like an anchor every day, when Christ came to set us free. Oh sure others may remember something that on your part has been long ago repented of, we must remember even if others do not forgive God does and remembers our sin no more! To those who sin they are the servant of sin, but praise God for Christ who is able to make us free from its bondage. (John 8:31-36). Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed….. (Isaiah 43:25).

Moses was a very meek man (Numbers 12:3),and he was like many of us who love the Lord yet think they can carry the sin of another. He even asked God to blot him out of the book of life for the sin the people had committed, but God lets him know it is their sin and not his. Just as with us we need to let go and let God deal with things we try in our own strength to handle when He knows what is best for us. (Exodus 32:30-35) And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the Lord; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin. And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin–; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them. And the Lord plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

Let’s not forget the wonderful gift of grace given us paid in full at the cross. The deceiver of the nations satan loves it when people are weighed down with guilt, but the message Jesus brought was so important to set the captives free it is found in both the old and new testament’s! (Isaiah 61:1-3)  The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. (Luke 4:18,19).

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.(Romans 3:23-26).
