Speak The Word Boldly!

In the world Jesus is portrayed as so meek and lowly, that He would never speak with BOLDNESS. There are two things that stand out in scripture, the time He overturned the money changers at the temple.(Matthew 21:10-13) Also when He compared Himself with His Father that He was the Son of God, and that He and His Father are one and the Jews picked up stones to stone Him.(John 10:30,31).

Taking the word of Hope to a world set on living away from God is not the easiest thing to do, but we are called through the Holy Spirit to do just that! (1 John 4:15-17) Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God,God dwelleth in him,and he in God. And we have known and believed the Love that God hath to us.God is Love;and he that dwelleth in Love dwelleth in God,and God in him.Herein is our Love made perfect, that we may have Boldness in the day of Judgment:Because as he is ,so are we in this world.

There is a passage that reminds me so much of how others think of those in this life who are shy or unlearned should and can be overtaken by those who are stronger than them. So it was with Peter and Paul who were thought to be inorant men, but God  worked His power through them with boldness! (Acts 4:13) Now when they saw the Boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled;and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Even Moses was as we are thinking no one would believe and listen to him, or that the Lord had appeared to him. He was slow of speech and was a very meek man and thought God could not use him for His purpose (Exodus 4:10-12)   And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

Paul says exactly what needs to be said by us in todays generation. On our own spirit of the flesh we are weak, but the holy spirt is a spirit of power for that which is right (1 Corinthians 2:3-5) And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power:That your Faith should not stand in the wisdom of men,but in the power of God.

But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak;not as pleasing men,but God,which trieth our hearts.(1 Thessalonians 2:4).

  1. Sometimes when I write, thoughts will just come to me that make me wonder if they were my thoughts alone. I think if God wants to get a message out to a specific person, he’ll use whatever vehicle he choses, even a simple, unknown person like me. Even though I don’t have much of a following, I like to think something I wrote at sometime moved someone closer to God. God is amazing and works in mysterious ways. He can even use someone ordinary like me. Your comment about Peter and John reaffirms this. Have a blessed New Year Julia!

    • Thank you Mary for this wonderful comment. I think many of us have thought the same thing at one time or another if we even reach anyone with what we write. God most assuredly works through those who the world would never think He would. This is proven many times in scripture with the perfect example of Moses who was very meek and could not speak eloquently yet God spoke through him! (Exodus 4:10-12). People of the world think their speech is with power, but we know it is the power of the Holy Spirit which speaks through His people are others taught.

Have a Peaceful and Blessed New Year in the Lord Mary
      Julia
