There are so many biblical passages that teach us there are only two who are eternally divine by nature, and that is God and His only begotten Son the Lord Jesus Christ. When we read the definition of what divine means we can clearly see man does not have such attributes, unless born again.
DIVINE: Omnipresent, Immortal, Omniscience (All Knowing),
With so many denominations and belief systems out there it is easy to see why people cannot come together in the truth. Fortunately for us we have the scriptures we can read for ourselves and compare the lies of the world with the truth of God.
Nicodemus surely knew we are not of divine nature seeing when he came to the Lord and learned one must be born again. Jesus told him we are born of the flesh and must be born of the spirit! (John 3:3-8) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Unfortunately for those who believe they are eternally divine by nature show they have not read the bible and are blind as scripture teaches us we are called by God and it is then we are able to partake of His divine nature when we escape the corruption of our sinful nature. ( 2 Peter 1:3-9) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
As believers we are transformed by the Holy Spirit, and it is then we display the characteristics given to us by God ( Galatians 5:22-26) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. ( John 14:17).

While reading this i thought of this passage from 1 Corinthians 15:53. ” For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. “
Thank you Chuck for this most enlightened comment. This passage truly confirms if one were eternally divine by nature there would be no need to “Put on immortality” and teaches we are mortal.

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. ( 1 Timothy 1:17).
