It is written blessed are the eyes that see and the ears that hear, what exactly is seen and heard? The best example given us is found in the calling of Saul on the road to Damascus when Jesus tells him he will be made a minister and a witness to a people he was just delivered from, but will now be sent to them to open the eyes of the Gentiles and to turn them from the power of satan to God so they may receive forgiveness of sins by sharing his faith in the one who has just called him! (Acts 26:13-19) At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision.
This very testimony of Saul will repeat itself throughout many generations as one by one those who encounter Christ will walk a different road than they previously did. Our conversation becomes that of Christ and of the heavenly as we testify of His saving grace. It is the high calling of God which is now most important.(Philippians 3:13-21) Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
When a person has a personal experience and it is of a spiritual sort a lot of times a wall will go up, not out of hatred but from not understanding that which is spiritual. When a person receives the Holy Spirit those around them find Gods spiritual knowledge as foolishness, but mans wisdom does not teach what can only be spiritually discerned. (1 Corinthians 2:12-16). Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.
He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. ( John 3:31-36).

I can’t say that there was a certain moment that changed me. No, it was reading threw the bible from Genesis to Revelation twice now. One understands what is in the bible and how all the books come together as a whole work. With that i became more aware of how these modern day evangelists take the word and what they say is not true to the word of GOD. It is like you see how distorted what they are preaching. With that your eyes are opened to how corrupt everything in this world is. Over a period of time it changed me. That was my come out of babylon moment. Peace.
Wonderful insight Chuck! The word truly changes us indeed as we renew our minds by reading it. The Old testament confirms the New testament and vice versa. Sadly there are churches which cut scripture in half and only teach the old while other churches only teach the new.
