Even though some may choose to believe evil does not exist in the earth, our Lord was well aware of it’s presence as His prayer given us says “Deliver us from evil” (Matthew 6:9-13).
Did you know the wicked are estranged from the womb , as their purpose in life is to cause unrest in the lives of others. It is all in Gods plan to show the righteous that His judgment is truly in the earth, and we can put our trust in Him for our deliverance! (Psalm 58:3-5,10-11) The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear; Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely. The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.
Just as God causes the rain to fall upon the righteous as well as the wicked, we learn the wicked will always be among us till they be removed on the day of judgment. In the mean time God is more than able to deliver His people. Lot endured the ungodly of Sodom and Go-mor’-rha, but God delivered him! (2 Peter 2:6-9) And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.
As we walk with the Lord through this life we can take comfort in knowing our enemy will not prevail over us, for the God we serve will deliver us from all evil (Psalm 97:9-12) For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods. Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
With God we have the power to overcome evil with good, and remember everything is under the watchful eye of God and we never walk alone! (Romans 12:17-21) Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Psalm 121
