People feel we are only human and therefore are not worthy to be able to do any righteous acts God would consider to be good enough, but this just is not true. We are told in scripture that God is to be thanked we were servants of sin, for it is then better to see a difference in the person who accepts Christ and is born again and become servants of righteousness. “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness”.(Romans 6:16-18).
“Righteousness”
The people who love the Lord God actually seek his way that is pleasing to him, and therefore are blessed because of it! They are not ashamed to bear the name of Christ and to suffer for his sake.”Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled”.(Matthew 5:6).
(1 Peter 3:12-14).
No matter how unpopular it is to the worlds eyes when you do not follow their traditions we are here to carry out the will of the Father and not our own if we truly Love him. We are a people who have our Fathers laws written on our hearts and minds, and this place only holds temporary pleasures for a season and nothing eternal which is the sole purpose of the Christian life! “Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings. For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation”.
(Isaiah 51:7,8).
When we pray: Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven, we can be assured that the sceptre of Christs kingdom is one of righteousness! “But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows”.(Hebrews 1:8,9).
We are called of God in righteousness to be his covenant to the people to bring them out of the prison houses of the darkness of this world. “I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images”.(Isaiah 42:6-8).
