“The Ambiguous Believer”

first

Ever talk with people that no matter what the subject is they agree with everything as not to cause waves? If it were a discussion of faith though to be ambiguous is another way of saying they are on the fence and either can’t decide just how they believe or have one foot on the narrow path and the other on the wide so they can be comfortable no matter what. This indecision could very well cause their chance to enter heaven! God does not like us to be so vague on if we Love the Lord or not. “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I council thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye-salve, that thou mayest see”.

 (Revelation 3:15-18).
When we are undecided in our beliefs then our faith suffers and stays inactive which hinders the arm of God to move in our life. We are what’s considered to be a double minded person and we are not leaning towards the pleasing values God wants in the life of a Believer. “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways”.(James 1:5-8).
We are warned not to be oblivious to making wrong look right and right look wrong as though God doesn’t see us in our lives and the way we live our lives, yet people do this and think nothing of it. To let people think when they are living wrongly that God will just forgive in the end of their life is to miss out on many blessings they could have enjoyed as they lived. “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!”.(Isaiah 5:20,23).
God doesn’t want us to be for him one day and if persecution or loss come into our lives we turn from him. He is ever waiting for his children to call on him in the good and the bad days of our lives. It is in times of trouble he looks for us to find him and not turn away from seeking his council. “Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight”.(Psalm 101:6,7).
God is ever merciful and is mindful of all choices we make. The best one anyone could ever make is to serve God with their whole heart and mind. No matter what happens from day to day. He will never leave us or forsake us! “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee”.(Isaiah 26:3).
