“To Strive Is Worth It”


STRIVE: To struggle in Opposition, To Devote Serious Energy and Effort for a Cause, To Contend, An Endeavor.

What is it to strive for something? It is written we are to strive to the straight gate. “Strive to enter in at the straight gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able”.(Luke 13:24).

To strive is not an easy path, but it is the one our Lord and Saviour took, and by his example we learn it is attainable. Eye has not see nor ear heard what awaits us if we stay the course. “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God”.(1 Corinthians 2:9,10).

We must press on and move forward as we keep in sight that this is a temporary place we are passing through and strive to get to our eternal home one day! For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”.(2 Corinthians 4:16-18).

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away”(Revelation 21:4).

In Psalm 35 David writes of asking God to fight against those who strive against him……………
