“Gods Presence”

His Temple/ His Glory

When David thought to build God a temple. God said he never asked anyone to build him a house of cedars, because he lived and dwelled in tent’s and tabernacles . This was the way God appeared to man as they would set up curtains as a tabernacle and tents then the presence of God would come and fill it with his glory! “Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle”.(Exodus 40:34,35).

When Solomon was dedicating the temple he had built he was told that his son David did well that it was in his heart to build a house for God, for God never chose any tribe of Israel to ever build him one. “Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt. I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel. And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel. And the Lord said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart”. (1 Kings 8:16-18).

Spiritually speaking God still asks who will set up his curtains for him to dwell in as the Pastors have scattered the flocks. “My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains. For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the Lord: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered”.(Jeremiah 10:20,21).

God is omnipresent and there is no place large enough any one could build to contain his presence! “But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded”.(1 Kings 8:27). God says his ways are not our ways, and we see throughout many generations man has always thought God dwells in a building, when the building he dwells in is the heart of man by the covenant he has made with him! “Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them. And having an high priest over the house of God”. (Hebrews 10:15,16,21).

We are to separate ourselves from the way people worship in the worlds ways, and God now dwells within his temple which are the people of his flock through the Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians 6:16-18).
