In the very beginning even though Mary gave birth to Jesus, it was not a physical conception and it is written he was “Supposed to” of been the child of Joseph…….. Yet we know he was the Son of the living God. “Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descend in a bodily shape like a dove from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli. Which was the son of E’-nos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God”.(Luke 3:21-23,38).
Jesus is known as the light of the world and this bright light was among men and upon the earth as told by the prophet Isaiah long before he would be a great light which shone in the land of the shadow of death. “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined”.(Isaiah 9:2). It is beautiful to read how Christ is with us always and in Psalm 23 we are told again of the valley of the shadow of death which we walk though by the strength and comfort of the Holy Spirit! (Psalm 23:4).
Jesus is known as the root and offspring of David (Revelation 22:16), and in a sermon Paul tells us that our Saviour is a promise given from God to Israel and also to whosoever fears him is this message of Salvation sent! “And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will. Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus: Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent”.(Acts 13: 22,23,26).
