“Be Not Ashamed Of The Gospel”

Part of being a Christian is to not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ, and to be willing to suffer for his sake! The word of God which is Christ for he is known as the word (John 1:1) will bring a sword among the people and as we confess the word there will always be those who will be offended by it. “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men. him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth, I came not to send peace, but a sword”.(Matthew 10:32-34).

When a person knows for to do what is right, they are as bold as a lion for the fight of faith they stand for! “The wicked flee when no man persueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion”.(Proverbs 28:1).

When we have someone in front of us who wants to argue the word of God, we know that although they feel it can be argued the word stands for itself and we need to always keep our eyes on God who tries our heart and make sure we do what is pleasing to him as we are known as the house and temple of God. “Yet if any man suffer as a christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commiteth keeping of their souls to him in well-doing, as unto a faithful creator”.(1 Peter 4:16-19).

“And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him”.(1 John 2:28,29).
