” What A Comfort “

z9o0r5y3

BLESSED ARE THEY THAT MOURN: FOR THEY SHALL BE COMFORTED. (Matthew 5:4)

Any and all comfort comes from Christ no matter what trouble or stress comes our way, even if we are being comforted by anyone it is consolation given through Christ. (2 Corinthians 1:3-5). Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

What a most wonderful promise Jesus gave us that he would pray to the Father to send us another comforter being the Holy Spirit. (John 14:16-18,26). And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

We are given hope when we remember the word of God, for his judgments of long ago comforts our soul.(Psalm 119:49-52).  Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me. The proud have had me greatly in derision: yet have I not declined from thy law. I remembered thy judgments of old, O Lord; and have comforted myself.

When we have misplaced fear and think our oppressors have the upper hand, we are told the Lord is our comfort and has power over any enemy! (Isaiah 51:12,13).  I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; And forgettest the Lord thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?
