The title of this post may cause some to gasp as those words sound offensive and wrong, surely Jesus would never of addressed such subjects. Thanks to false teachings and sugar coated messages from some pulpits today Jesus has been reduced to a shy, demure, marshmallow that would not speak something that would offend those living wrongly, yet He himself spoke many times things that offended those who hated the message He brought of His Father. For those who love the message is not offended at His teachings and He said blessed are those who are not offended in Him. (Matthew 11:2-6). Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
Hypocrites, the perverse, and fools were in Christs day just as we live among today, and many are still offended at His truthful message! The Hey! look at me hypocrite was not favored by Jesus in His day and therefore in our day when a church announces they do this or that for charity (Give Alms) is no different, just as when we pray it is between us and God our Father in heaven as we are not suppose to announce (Sound A Trumpet) of the kindness we show to others to be seen of them, let not your left hand know what your right hand is doing. (Matthew 6:1-5). Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Justice (Judgment) is left out as people are taught we are not suppose to judge which is something God expects us to do in the earth for He loves judgment as it keeps what is right in the earth. (Zephaniah 2:1-3) Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired; Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord’s anger come upon you. Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger…… (Psalm 37:27-30).
Many are kept in bondage by drugs, alcohol and the like which is no different than the people of Egypt that were held in bondage by their taskmaster’s, and it is commanded of God that we do not pervert His judgment of anyone for we have been redeemed to do His will. (Deuteronomy 24:17,18,22).
Luke 11:37-44
