Can a people turn so far from God that He would forsake them, or even consider turning His face away? After all God is loving and full of grace and compassion, but is there a limit He will not tolerate constant rebellion? (Deuteronomy 29:25-29) Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt: For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them: And the anger of the Lord was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book: And the Lord rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day. The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
Is America heading for such a God forsaken land with so many actions He has clearly stated is an abomination in His sight? Marijuana was illegal at one time till recently, just as the outright shunning of the beautiful creation He made people to be, yet man is playing God to go as far as changing their gender! Can man really change what God has made? God does not make mistakes, would He really just sit idly by while man destroys what He has set forth in the earth for the good of man if followed. Will His judgment just pass over us as though He has no control and man does? Can we willfully continue in sin we know is wrong and there be no punishment? (Hebrews 10:26-31). For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Az-a-ri’-ah when he met with Asa said the Lord is with him if he were with the Lord, but if he were to forsake the Lord then the Lord would surely forsake him. He put away all the abominable idol’s out of the land of Judah and Benjamin by knowing God was of His word. (2 Chronicles 15:1-8). And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded: And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law. But when they in their trouble did turn unto the Lord God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them. And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries. And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity. Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded. And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the Lord, that was before the porch of the Lord.
