” We Are His If ….. “

There is a difference in one who loves and serves the Lord, they have a conscience to do the will of God more than their own and they keep His commandments. WE ARE HIS IF WE: Keep His commandments. (John 14:15-17).  If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

It would seem impossible to love someone who mistreats us or uses and persecutes us, but what is impossible with man is possible with God. We are known as His children by doing what is opposite of what the world accepts. WE ARE HIS IF WE: Love our enemies and pray for those who use us. (Matthew 5:43-48). Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

When we suffer for Christ’s sake it is an honor others do not sometimes understand, but as a Christian we do not speak like the world does as our conversation is of the good news of the gospel. WE ARE HIS IF WE: Do not fear our adversaries which think we are speaking evil of the word, when we are suffering for the sake of the one we serve. ( Philippians 1:27-30 )  Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
