Nothing is one sided with God and although as Christians we seek to have a closer walk with the Lord and to get to know Him, it is also good to know that we are known of Him. Before we come to the knowledge of Christ the world around us holds our interest and we unknowingly are a servant to its beggarly elements and serve things other than God. Once we find the truth in Christ we see the errors we lived and find now that God knows us, how can we turn back to the old way of life? (Galatians 4:1-11). Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
When we look around today at the condition the world is in with so much hatred, violence and just plain no fear or reverence for God and we find the proud are happy and even wickedness is built up! But for those who truly do fear God He says we are His and a book of remembrance has been written. (Malachi 3:15-18).
Psalm 139:1-4 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.
