The kingdom of God is closer than people think, for many are under the assumption a person had to die to ever see it but Jesus has said the kingdom of God is within us! (Luke 17: 20-21). And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
In the Lords prayer we read the words “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven” and by reading this we can see His kingdom can and is here upon earth, for by faith it brings the unseen into being.
During the trial of Jesus Pilate asked Him if He were a king since He said His kingdom was not of this world in which Jesus replied: He was born into this world to bear witness of the truth, and that any one who hears His voice is of the truth. As Christians to this day His people preach His truth, but the world only hears its own voice. (John 18:36-37)……. (1 John 4:4-6).
The poor of Spirit are blessed of God and they are rich in faith, all who love and serve Him are heirs of His kingdom. (James 2:5) Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?……. (Matthew 5:3).
We must repent and be born again of the spirit of God, for flesh and blood cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Nicodemus had this explained to him perfectly by Jesus. (John 3:1-8). There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
