Many have suffered loss at one time or another and it is written time and chance happens to us all. So what one person goes through chances are pretty good others have as well. ( Ecclesiastes 9:11 ).
We are taught we are never alone in dealing with troubles as scripture tells us to stay strong in our faith and know our bretheren in the world are also suffering. ( 1 Peter 5:6-11 ). 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you]. 11 To him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Whether our heart is broken from divorce, death of a loved one or any hard hitting loss, we can be sure God is aware of our sorrow. ( Psalm 34:17-22 ). 17 [The righteous] cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. 18 The LORD [is] nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. 20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. 21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. 22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
Jesus fulfilled the scripture Isaiah had spoken many years before which is He was sent to heal the broken hearted! ( Luke 4:17-21 ) ( Isaiah 61:1-3 ).
