When a loved one passes away

_

When we lose a loved one our heart is broken, but Jesus knew the pain of loss and understands our grief. We know this by the scripture when His friend Lazarus had died and He wept and groaned within His spirit and was deeply moved! (John 11:32-35).

The passing of a loved one is never easy but we know our Lord is one who is aquainted with sorrow and grief (Isaiah 53:3-5). As a christian we can take comfort in knowing our loved one is no longer in pain and is safe now in the presence of the Lord. We will one day see them again for this is Gods promise to us! (1 Thessalonians 4:14-18) 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. ,(Revelation 21:4).

Praise God our Lord has conquered death and it now has no power over a believer in Christ!

(Romans 14:7-9) 7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. 9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
