When we were young many of us are brought up to believe in Jesus and the importance of having faith in Him. While we retain this belief the way of the world has the ability to cause us to believe other ways that unfortunately take us from the narrow path that leads to life.
Thankfully God does not leave us alone but is merciful, for if He dealt with us by our sins then no one could stand. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God(Psalm 103:8-13).
We can continue to live our own way or truly follow the way of life found only in Christ,a life of substance, protection and peace and not according to this world but in newness of a life hid in Christ!(Colossians 3:1-10) 1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.
It is written to be a friend of the world we are then an enemy of God,and sadly the way to eternal life is then forfeited by not choosing a life found only in the one who died so that we may live!(Philippians 3:17-21) 17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
