We do not fear people who do not have power over us, for the Lord Himself has instructed us it is He who has the power to cast our soul into hell,a power no person has the ability to do (Luke 12:4,5). 4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

When we know the Lord our way of life reflects Him,and our ways become what is pleasing in His eyes and not what is all about us. When we hate evil,pride and arrogancy it shows we have a reverence and fear of the Lord our God (Proverbs 8:13),(Psalm 139:21-24).

It is the rebellious heart that chooses to not fear the Lord,and is considered foolish to not want to know the Lords ways! It is that lack of fear which causes a person to continue in their sin and many times this way of life keeps good things from us (Jeremiah 5:21-25). 21 Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not: 22 Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it? 23 But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone. 24 Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest. 25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. 27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. (Proverbs 14:26,27).
