A peculiar treasure unto God

TREASURE = A person esteemed as rare and precious, something of great worth.

Early in scripture we see God telling moses of what He had done to the egyptians and how those who obey His voice and keep His covenant are in His eyes a peculiar treasure unto Him (Exodus 19:3-6) 3 And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; :4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself. 5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: 6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. (Deuteronomy 26:16-19).

God says His people will be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. God always keeps His promises and we see also in the new testament the same thing which confirms He truly is faithful to His word!(1 Peter 2:9,10).

Most people would take offense in being told they are peculiar, yet to the people of God it is an honor to bear the holy name by which they are called to show forth His glory in the earth ( Titus 2:12-15) 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
