The race of a lifetime

There are many races any one of us could run in this life, but there is not one more important than the life race of the christian, a race that obtains an incorruptible crown of glory through faith and is unlike the corruptible prizes the world offers ( 1 Corinthians 9:24-27).

We are given strength through the Lord to accomplish all we need to as we live our life. Through God we do not grow weary,if anything our strength is increased as we walk closer to Him!(Isaiah 40:28-31) 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Solomon’s wisdom was like no other of his observation on viewing life’s race as he said “ Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9:10,11).

May we learn to not live our life in the past but to always be looking to the future and the hope we have in Christ, to run the race that has been set before us all and to remember we never walk alone in Him! “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us “.(Hebrews 12:1).
