Understanding Relationships

The people we choose to associate with on a regular basis may help or hinder our spiritual growth. While keeping this in mind, God gave us advice and warnings on who we have as friends. The scriptures below emphasize on what you should pursue and what to avoid in relationships.

You should find a Christian friend. Having a true Christian friend will help you get through times of trouble and temptation. Galatians 6:1-3

You should avoid those who mock God. God and His word should always be the center focus of praise-not mockery-in the relationships you hold. 2 Timothy 3:1-5

Stray away from any relationship that will cause you to sin. Bad company corrupts good character. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

Your friendships should honor God. Seek friendships of those who live as Christ intended. 1 John 1:7
