Mysteries of the kingdom of God

Jesus spoke many times in parables to the people and when His disciples asked Him why He explained that they understand His teaching because they walk with Him. Others however do not understand the mysteries of Gods kingdom because they have not yet repented of their sins so that they may be converted unto the truth (Mark 4:10-12) 10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. 11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

When a person truly repents their eyes and ears are opened and then have the ability to understand the mysteries of Gods kingdom. This shows us just how much God loves those who choose Him over the worlds ways. They are ever able to learn of His mysteries which explains the passage don’t cast your pearls among the swine. The truth of His kingdom is a real treasure not to be trampled and cast aside! (Colossians 1:26-29) 26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: 29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

The mysteries of God are revealed to us by the holy spirit to those who have faith and are obedient to His ways (Romans 16:25,26) 25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith. (John 16:13-15).

  1. Good mornin to you miss Julia.
I come to you in brotherly kindness sister, to be helpful.

I paid particular attention to the topic of repentance in my book “Christianity Vs Religion,” in fact, you will find that the topic of repentance has its own section within chapter one.

But I’ll get right to the shorthand of what I want to share with you.

God’s people are continually turning away from sins, but we don’t repent “of our sins” to be saved.

    That’s for two reasons:

    1. None of us have ever stopped sinning (whether saved or unsaved). So we can’t be justified by that which is impossible to perform perfect.

The Lord Jesus Christ’s finished work to cleanse God’s people’s sins is complete.
Not reliant upon our inadequate adjunct to cleanse our sins.

Before replying to what I’ve presented here, please go to my posts, and locate chapter 1 of of my book, and read the section about repentance.

Once again, please understand that my intention is to be helpful here, not to be impolite.

    • Hello Lee;
Your point is well taken Lee and the first chapter of your book has explained what TRUE REPENTANCE means. You are spot on in seeing repentance is not just to repent of our sins, but to make an about face of how one is really living and a change of heart and mind is vital. Our life is no longer our own, but is now lived in the light of Christ and who He is. It is no longer we who live, but Christ who lives through us by His spirit………
I understand what your saying that the flesh of man never really fully does not sin ever again, because we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. So to say you just repent of sin then boom your good to go and your instantly saved as many churches preach just is not correct.
Did I grasp what you are saying here Lee? Blessings.
P.S. Very good read on your book.

      • Good mornin to you miss Julia.

Thank you for seeing that my intention is to be helpful.

I don’t think that I have effectively communicated what I was trying to communicate.

Allow me to Preface what I’m about to say, in that when God saved me, it was nothing short of a hurricane in my life.
I was frequently compelled to get on my face and beg God for forgiveness. And I tried to make restitution to a lot of people that I harmed, and I also turned from many sins.

But it wasn’t until I knew for a fact that I was resting in the finished work of Christ…that I knew that Chris had been formed in me.

And my repentance of sins had nothing to do with it. It was never enough, and I had no peace until God had me to rest in the finished work of His only begotten Son.

Salvation doesn’t occur by surrendering one’s life to Christ.

Salvation occurs when we get to the point where we realize that we can bring nothing to God to be right with Him except neediness.

It’s when we realize that our repentance of sins, our commitment, etc, is woefully inadequate,…and al l we’re left with is just to believe that the work of the Son was enough…plus nothing.

Therefore to teach one’s efforts as the way of redemption is no better than repackaged roman catholicism or pentecostalism.

It’s very narrow to believe that Jesus’ work is enough.

Conversely, it takes no faith to put stock in what we do for God.

Yes, God changes our heart to hate sin, but recognize the correct order.

God regenerates and changes the heart.
We don’t change our heart to be cleansed.

        Does that help a little?

      • Yes! Lee there is nothing we can do but to surrender completely to Christ. Only He can renew us to be a vessel fit for His kingdom. He alone as the potter and the clay can form us, and mere repentance does not bring about the change that is needed just to accept His grace. I love what you said here ” God regenerates and changes the heart. We don’t change our heart to be cleansed”. Stay strong in Him.
