THE PEACE OF GOD

It is a blessing to have peace in our life, and those who abide in Christ have a peace that truly does pass the worlds understanding (Psalm 29:11) The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

Rest and peace are one and the same in the Lord. When we are at peace we can rest and be assured our Lord will never leave nor forsake us. His peace is not as the worlds which brings only temporary peace, for His peace is one that continually gives us comfort through the many trial’s we endure throughout our life (John 14:27) 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

When the spirit of God dwells within a believer the need to make peace is ever present with us, as the world only offers chaos. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. (Matthew 5:9).

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (Romans 8:14-17)

Even when the Israelites came out of Egypt by Moses there were those who after such a miraculous move by God still chose to not believe, and therefore were not able to enter into His rest! (Hebrews 3:13-19) 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. 16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. 17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

The only people in the earth who do not have the joy and peace of God are unbeliever’s and the wicked who choose to not want the Lord in their life (Isaiah 57:19-21) 19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him. 20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. 21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
