The mind of Christ

Scripture teaches us as believers we are as He is in this world. This is the power of our risen Lord, that through His holy spirit He is always in the earth through us ( 1 John 4:13-17) 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

When our minds are renewed by the word of God and by His spirit we are able to spiritually discern what the will of God is, for we have the mind of Christ! (1 Corinthians 2:9-16) 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

As followers of Christ we are to be of one mind without division, oh what joy there is when we are with like minded people who truly love the Lord! (1 Peter 3:8-12) 8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: 9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. 10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: 11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

  1. Beautiful and wonderful Julia. To me it says saturate yourself with the Oil of Gods Word. I think of this expression often…. When we read His Word, and meditate upon it, we can’t help but become saturated with it, like a soft cloth dipped in a bowl of oil, it becomes completely saturated, and when you use it to rub on a particular object, the residue of that oil is left upon it. The analogy being that when we’re saturated with Gods Word, we can’t help but leave a residue of the Spirit of God behind when we encounter someone God places on our path. Thank you and have a blessed day. ❤🙌

    • What a wonderful analogy you have said. Your right…….. how can one not be touched or moved after an encounter with the word of God who works through us. Gods grace and love over your life Always.
