We are always watched over by God

As humans we need to sleep in order to recoup and obtain rest in order to have strength for to face our day. We can take comfort in knowing that while we are asleep we are being watched over by God who never slumbers nor sleeps! (Psalm 121:1-8) 1 A Song of degrees. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. (Psalm 127:2).

For the unbelieving there is no comfort for them to believe in God and His promises, and therefore they would not take comfort in knowing they are always under the watchful eyes of God. For the christian though there is great comfort in knowing God is ever watching over them for good (Psalm 139).

When we have faith in God we put our full trust in that He is more than capable to watch over us and keep us safe. He is our strong tower in which we find safety from the storm (Isaiah 26:3,4) 3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4-7).
