The Lord says those who go to battle against His servants they will not stand, as His people are unmovable in the righteousness they stand for as a pillar which cannot be removed. (Isaiah 54:14-17). In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
God knew the prophet Jeremiah before he was born and gave him a strong message that he was to not be disappointed with the way the people would look at him for what he had to say (Jeremiah 1:4,5). Jeremiah was set over the nations and kingdoms to build and to plant what God had given him, but to make sure he was not disappointed at the looks the people would give him for he would be as an iron pillar against all the land yet none would prevail against him for the Lord was with him! (Jeremiah 1:10,17-19). See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant. Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them. For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land. And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.
The Holy Spirit even gives us help to overcome in perilous times and to hold onto what has been given us in Christ such as Salvation, Forgiveness of sins, and Eternal Life! Those who overcome will be made a pillar one day in the temple of God. (Revelation 3:10-13). Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
