For many when they read when Jesus said feed my sheep to Peter that he meant to feed them with the word of God and this is true, but there is also another way we are to feed the sheep and that is by showing other’s Gods way by example. We are as a walking epistle for others to read, because of the written word on our heart’s! (2 Corinthians 3:2-6) Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. (Psalm 78:71,72).
God has always provided for His people and when He led the Israelites through the desert He fed them with Manna (Angel’s food) (Psalm 78:24,25) And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven. Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full.
Generations later God once again cared for His people by sending the sacrifice of His Son, who is the bread of life for all who partake of it! A living bread that if a man would eat of it would have eternal life (John 6:47-51) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
