Thankfulness

There is so much in this life to be thankful for, throughout the ages many have come and gone who gave thanks to God.

In the midst of adversity we find Daniel praying and thanking God three times a day, even though he was warned that if he went against the kings decree he would be cast into the lions den(Daniel 6:10).

David too was very thankful that God had freed him of his enemies and gave God thanks for his deliverance!(2 Samuel 22:47-51). The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation. It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me. And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man. Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name. He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.

When Jesus’ good friend Lazarus had died He gave thanks to His Father for hearing Him(John 11:40-42).

Psalm 79:13 So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.

May we always remember to give thanks and praise to God who has given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! (1 Corinthians 15:57,58).
