By standing for that which is right and of God is fast becoming the most unpopular thing to do, but it is expected of us as christians to always be about our Fathers business! ( 1 John 4:4-6) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
The wisdom of this world has always had preeminence over the sound judgment of God, but when we turn to Him in prayer and repentance our very being is completely changed. In Ecclesiastes we read of a wise poor man whose wisdom was not taken for what it was, and was then not even remembered (Ecclesiasties 9:14-18) There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it: Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man. Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard. The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools. Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroyeth much good.
There have been nay sayers since time began as God sent time and time again prophets and wise men to tell of what is to come to pass of His will only to be persecuted and slain. Jesus taught this many times to the people and said it among His generation and the message has not changed for our time as well. (Luke 49:50,51) Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute: That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation.
Jesus spoke to the people of how at the time of the end God will cause the meek and just among men to increase in the joy of the Lord, and those who watch and do evil will be cut off for they shunned those who were carrying out God’s will that was placed in their hearts! (Isaiah 29:18-21) And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off: That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought. (Matthew 5:2-12)
Many know of what we call “The Beatitudes” and it is a clear picture of what we as christians are to be, even when the world does not understand our mission in this life!
The Beatitudes
And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. (Matthew 5:2-12).
