The Test Of God

Ever wonder if God tests us? Scripture teaches the answer is yes He does. When the Israelites were in the desert for forty years they had many tests as God showed them signs and miracles among them, imagine having clothes and shoes that never wore out!…. Yet it is clearly answered that God proved, humbled, sought to know the people’s heart and wanted to see if they would keep His commandments. (Deuteronomy 8:2) And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no…… (Deuteronomy 29:2-6).

Sometimes when we are tested and get upset we will blame God, when we ourselves have ventured off the right path and were enticed by our weakness in the flesh as God does not tempt any man. (James 1:12-17).  Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.  Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:  But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.  Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.  Do not err, my beloved brethren.  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

We all must pass through this temporary place on earth, but it is by faith all that we go through that paves the way to where our soul will spend eternity one day! (1 Peter 1:3-9).  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,  Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.  Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:  That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:  Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

God many times tests us, but remember satan who is the enemy of our soul also many times tests and tempts us as he also did with the Lord. We are more than conquerors through the Lord who loves us! (John 10:10), (Luke 4:1-13).

  1. Amen! May the lord sift us for His glory, and enable us to be more than conquerors in Him. ❤️Sent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device

  2. The tests are for our refining and for growth. I believe that our growth in Christ is proportional to our obedience to Him. We are tempted, not by God, but by the world, the flesh, and the devil. It comes in three forms: the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the boastful pride of life. (1 Jn 2:15-16) But in Christ, we have overcome! And we CAN overcome! As we overcome this world, we grow in Him. The more we choose to obey, the easier it gets TO obey! Our heart must be as John the Baptist said … “He must increase, and I must decrease” (Jn 3:30)

    • Thank you so much Paul for this most truthful spot on explanation of what it is to be in Christ who gives us the strength to overcome and endure anything! May God Bless and Keep you Always close.
