We could ask why would anyone suffer on a cross for the redemption of man, but God knew exactly what He was doing for mankind when sending His only begotten Son to show just how much He loves us. (John 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life……. (Isaiah 53).
We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God, but for whosoever chooses to try their best and repent then turn from their sin will suffer persecution. As Paul wrote to Timothy of the persecution he endured all of which the Lord had delivered him! (2 Timothy 3:10-12). But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Justice begins when we take a stand for righteousness on behalf of Christ, and God is glorified as we are not ashamed of the gospel we share with the world (1 Peter 4:16-19) Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
Even though Jesus was the Son of the living God He learned obedience by what He suffered, and by being made perfect He gained eternal Salvation for all who would obey Him! (Hebrews 5:7-9). Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.
Peace with God Through Faith
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:1-8).
