The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord (Lamentations 3:24-26).
Returning evil for evil was never God’s plan for us as we are taught Christ said He would make our enemies our footstool! If we choose to return the evil which comes against us the consequences are worse then if we wait on the Lord and He will take care of it for us. This does not mean we’re a doormat as we wait, but we are to use common sense in every situation and God’s plan will work out over our way’s. (Proverbs 20:22) Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the Lord, and he shall save thee.
When we wait patiently on the Lord He will see to it that what is best for us will come to pass if we abide in His truth (Psalm 25:3-6) Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
The biggest part of faith in the life of a Believer is to put full trust in God who oftentimes works in ways we do not expect yet is always the best result and know that it was by faith God brought our prayer to pass! (Romans 8:24-27) For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infimities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Scripture teaches us that before Christ returns that in the last days some will not listen to sound doctrine and will then take the mark of the beast all Christians are warned to avoid from taking, it is then the patience of the saints will be shown as they keep their faith in Christ! (Revelation 14:11,12) And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
When we wait patiently on the Lord we know the one who hears our prayers and has the ability to go before us in any situation and bring His way to pass and not the unrighteous acts of others! When our enemies come before us and we stand with the Lord, it is He who fights our battles. Psalm 37 gives us the hope that when we wait upon the Lord He will remove our enemies from before us, He is not a God afar off, but is there by our side in the midst of any storm! (Psalm 37).
