Through the years I’ve heard people say everything whether good or bad is written down in a book that will one day be opened and we will then give answer. Does such a book about the life we have lived really exist? For those who truly love the Lord it is a resounding yes! (Psalm 56:8-12). Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
It is written there would be some who would take the Holy word of God and twist it to their own destruction, but it comes with a severe penalty for anyone who does so….. Even if one adds to or takes from the words of scripture. It would mean the removal of one from the book of life! (Revelation 22:18,19). For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Even Moses knew of such a book as we see him pleading with God when the people he was leading sinned greatly by making gods of gold, even though it was not his place to say he asked God to remove him from His book (Exodus 32:31-33) And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
We find in psalms that the book of life is one of righteousness, and the workers of iniquity will have no part in it. (Psalm 69:27-30).
After the thousand year millennium the books will be opened and those who do not reign with Christ at that time will be judged, and whosoever is not found written in the book of life will then enter the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:11-15). And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Gods is longsuffering and does not want anyone to perish, but it is up to us if we are written in the book that will allow us to enter eternity with Him! (2 Peter 3:8,9).
