Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (1 Corinthians 1:20).
It does not take long for those who are truly called by God to experience the way they are treated has changed. People many times will not understand the difference in you, but we know being set apart for Gods purpose and grace gives us peace (2 Timothy 1:7-9) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
We accept this new life in Christ knowing that even our Lord was rejected by His own! Soon we learn this life is not about us, but about taking care of one another ( John 1:10-13) He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
When we are born from above Gods wisdom takes preeminence over the knowledge we once held so important. We quickly learn the wisdom of this world is considered to be foolishness to God the one we now follow. It is our saving grace to let go of the worlds wisdom and gain the knowledge of God! (1 Corinthians 1:21) For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
The spirit of God and His wisdom far differs from the spirit that is in man, and unless we are born again from above our wisdom remains as foolishness. The natural man cannot understand the wisdom which comes from God alone ( 1 Corinthians 2:11-16) For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18).
