May we never forget God

With God all things are possible! Sure we could live our life without acknowledging His way and follow our own, but why would we want to give up all the benefits of knowing and serving Him? (Psalm 103:1-6). Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

Some do not give God the credit and praise due His name, as though He can create everything, but not know the heart of man which He has created. Be assured God knows and sees everything! (Psalm 44:20-21). If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god; Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

Some may think there is no consequence in forgetting God or in not serving Him. Scripture teaches it does not fare well for the wicked or anyone who forgets God (Psalm 9:16,17) The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

May we never forget the Lord our God, for without Him we can do nothing, for He alone is our life! (John 15:5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

  1. “forget not HIS benefits…” How easily we can allow the recognition of all His goodness be forgotten in the abundance of His blessings (as the history of His people reveals)!
