Delivering the truth of the gospel

In Jesus’ day there were false teachers among the people just as there are false teachers among us even now. Many of the churches today sadly mirror the teachings of the Pharisees, and do not teach the truth of scripture. They had many things wrong just as we still do today by calling one who is head of a church “Father, Reverend or Rabbi” These titles only belong to God our Father and our Lord! (Matthew 23:1-10) Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

So many live a false life of christianity, many times the wisdom of God is taught by mans intellect and not by the wisdom of Gods spirit. God allows people to be blinded to His truth, for He knows their heart is far from Him! (Isaiah 29:13-15) Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

So many know of the great commission given to Ezekiel, but did you know the great commission was also given to Isaiah as well as to those who are called today? When Isaiah asked the Lord how long should he give the Lords message to the people? He was basically told until the end of the world! It may sound easy enough to do, but just as the peoples eyes could not perceive not their ears could not understand so it is today when delivering the truth of the word to the nations!

                   Isaiah’s Commission from the Lord

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate. (Isaiah 6:8-11)

It is no surprise the truth of the gospel is taught as though it is evil to follow it. Fortunately when we see this happening scripture has foretold us this would happen (2 Peter 2:1-3) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
