To Worship God

People believe all worship that is done surely is the worshiping of God Almighty, yet scripture tells us not all worship is to the glory of God. Jesus didn’t hesitate to call those who were following the doctrines of men hypocrites as they honoured God with their mouth, but their heart was far from Him.(Matthew 15:7-9) Ye hypocrites, well did E-sai’-as prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Is there any way of knowing just who is truly serving and worshipping God or who is not serving Him as He wants us to? The answer is a resounding yes! Many will speak of the world, but His people speak of the world to come (1 John 4:4-6) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

The holy spirit dwells within a true believer as they speak of repentance and are not a servant of sin. They will not lie as they know the truth of the word and will not waiver from it! (Isaiah 63:8)  For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.

We are saved by the grace of God and to continue in sin would show no difference to others that we are in Christ. God hears us when we worship and do His will and not our own (John 9:31) Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23,24).

  1. “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness…” Romans 10:10

If there is no new expression of righteousness there is not true birth in the Spirit of God. Believing without receiving the gift of His life is futile. Belief without moving a life “unto righteousness” is religion at its worst.

    As always a good word.

    • Such a good strong comment as you say: “Belief without moving a life “unto righteousness” is religion at its worst.” Religion has caused so much separation, sadly with Gods name stamped on it. Many Blessings.
