When we are overwhelmed it can feel as though we are so alone treading water and trying to stay above a flood that is insurmountable. Our Father knows exactly how trying times can be,but He will be with us always through everything we encounter in this life (Isaiah 43:1-4) But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
Be it high waters or fire we learn in scripture there is nothing too hard for God,the impossible is possible when we put our full trust in Him! We see there is a protection over the people of God in the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who were thrown into the fiery furnace, yet those who threw them in were consumed from the heat and they were not! This is truly a lesson that the Lord is right there in the midst of our most darkest of times! (Daniel 3:19-28).
As a christian our faith is tried many times in this life, but we must remember all is in Gods plan which at times we do not understand. His promises are forever and He is a faithful God we serve who will never leave nor forsake us therefore we are never alone!(1 Peter 1:6-9) Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation. Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters. Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me. Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies. And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily. (Psalm 69:13-17).
