Gods Protection

How Blessed are we when our Father dwells in the height of heaven, and watches over us daily along with comfort that we gain from reading His word (Psalm 138:6,7) Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

If we ever feel overwhelmed we are assured God is not far from us and will not allow us to be overtaken! (Isaiah 43:1,2) But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

The Lord is our high priest and mediator between us and God the Father, He is all the help we will ever need for He too was tempted as we are yet was without sin. Our Saviour sits at the right hand of God the Father and He is an ever present help in times of trouble (Hebrews 4:14-16) Seeing then we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

All hope and help come from our Saviour and Father in heaven who knows that each and every one of us look to them to seek shelter and refuge in! (Psalm 61:1-4) Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)
