The God of the bible

Since flesh and blood cannot inherit heaven, it is by the holy spirit we gain knowledge of who God really is. The world will teach only parcel truth of who He is. So who truly is the God of the bible? The love of God is great for all mankind, and since free will was given in the garden of eden man oftentimes will not choose love, yet God remains faithful to who He is!

God is a God of Love and Hate

The world teaches God is love and this is most assuredly true, yet it is many times left out that God hates anything even though there are things He does hate and even lists them in His word (Proverbs 6:16-19) These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

God uses angel’s and satan to do His will

People think God is sitting on a throne in heaven and interacts with man from time to time, but did you know God oftentimes allows angels and even satan to work His will in the earth? The two following stories confirms this.

Angels are used both for the good of the people and sometimes to carry out Gods vengeance. We see when Peter was in prison it was an angel God sent to free him (Acts 12:6-11) And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

We also see the vengeance God works as well through angels in the story of Herods demise (Acts 12:21-24) And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost. But the word of God grew and multiplied.

As christians we know satan is as a roaring lion always seeking whom he may devour. Many of us know the using of satan in the story of Job when God allows him to smote Job with boils (Job 2:1-10), but it was also satan who caused 70 thousand people to be destroyed because he provoked David to number Israel which God did not want done! We see here the justice of God and His will to reason with man, for when David repented of this wrong God gave him 3 choices to choose for the wrong he had done. (1 Chronicles 21:1-17).

We have learned God is not just interacting with man from time to time but is daily working His will in the earth, and to this day He is a God of love who is willing to reason with any one of us if we only will turn to Him! (Isaiah 1:18-20) Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Gods people know His will and do it, and He is a God who keeps His covenant and loves all who keep His commandment’s! (Deuteronomy 7:9-12) Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face. Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them. Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers.
