Where is your treasure?

The worlds treasure is different from the true treasures God offers to those who are searching for that which fulfills the soul!

The worlds treasures are temporary and although they seem to satisfy for a time, there is nothing we can acquire upon this earth that we can take with us when we die. There has never been seen a u-haul behind a hearse.

Here we see the difference between the true treasures of God that are everlasting verses the worldly possessions that last for a short time and are temporary. Those who blindly believe the more money and material things they possess makes them rich in Gods eyes are deceived, and it does not end well with them. We read of their fate in Psalm 49. (Psalm 49:16-20) Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him. Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself. He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light. Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

Moses understood the importance of having faith in God who would provide him with greater riches that would far exceed all that Phar’aoh’s daughter would offer him, and when he became of age chose to suffer affliction with the people of God ( Hebrews 11:23-27 ) By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Jesus instructed us not to store up treasures here on earth, for where our treasure is, there will your heart be also ( Matthew 6:19-21 ) Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
