May Be Fun, But Not Of God

With so many people falling prey to

Sorceries ……….…Witchcraft …….…Astrology……..…Wizards …………Magic

the following post bears repeating.

The controlling of people has always been since God created man upon the earth, sadly in our day we have another controlling as seen through Pharmakeia which is the ability one has to control others through drugs! Medicine itself is used to help with many maladies today, but when drugs are used to keep the innocent incapacitated it is as sorcery.

The word plainly tells us that sorcery, witchcraft, magic, and any other lying deception’s that amazes the crowds is seen as fun entertainment, not realizing it is from the pit of hell to practice such things. People are taken in and revelation teaches us how not just a few but all nations are deceived by the deception of sorcery (Revelation 18:23,24) And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

We have a wonderful example of just how wrong it is to dabble with what the word says is familiar spirits (mediums) or use witchcraft by the story of Manasseh who did such things and worked evil among the people. (2 Chronicles 33:1-2-6-9) Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem: But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel. And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

Many people are slain by the innocent acts of magic fun as though it were not harmful, and for those who do not care what happens to their soul in the end of their life will find these unpleasing acts presented as harmless were against God! Since so many believe all this is not an abomination to God, they are not aware that such matters God will judge severely. Seldom do people even realize that Gods judgment will be swift against those who oppress the widow, the fatherless and false swearers! (Malachi 3:5) And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

Just in case one still feels all this type of activity is harmless, it gets no clearer how it is against God when we read Deuteronomy 18:10-14. There shall not be found among you that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

  1. I understand your concern. As Christians, we are called to be vigilant and discerning about practices that are contrary to God’s Word. The Bible clearly warns against engaging in sorcery, witchcraft, and any form of deception that seeks to lead us away from God. Our faith encourages us to rely on God’s power and guidance rather than the false promises of such practices.

Let’s continue to seek God’s truth and remain steadfast in His teachings.
