The Lord has redeemed to Himself a peculiar people of which those of the world will not understand, a people that under no circumstances will allow themselves or others to be misused by those who choose to serve unrighteousness. They do not mind standing out as peculiar for they know to do the will of God is not easily accepted in this life, yet it is what we are called to do if we truly bear the name christian (Titus 2:11-15) For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

We are born into the world and quickly learn of it’s ways, only after many years do we feel there is something missing…..There has to be more.

There’s so many ways to fill the void placed in us set apart only for God to fill (The world calls it a God shaped hole). Beautiful Elaborate Homes,Fancy Cars,and many Friends that are like minded who also set up what the world depicts as status.

It is sadly seen when the stars of the world commit suicide and people say:How could they be so unhappy,look at all they had! Million Dollar Homes and the best this life has to offer etc. Yet they remain an empty soul yearning for Peace and Purpose in their lives which the world cannot truly offer.

This is the deceitfulness of the riches of the world many follow and deny the very existence of a God who offers the true riches for all eternity!!! Once we search and decide to step out of the world’s ways we become what God call’s “A PECULIAR PEOPLE” A people who will show forth the praises of Him! (1 Peter 2:9,10) But ye are a Chosen Generation,a Royal Priesthood,an Holy Nation,a PECULIAR PEOPLE, that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

All of us have come from many generations of long ago, and no matter how many years have come and gone we are no different than the Israelites that were taken out of Egypt and set free to serve God. They too were known as a peculiar treasure in Gods eyes! (Exodus 19:1-6) In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount. And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

Paul was more concerned of being a servant of Christ, than he was in trying to fit in to what the world deemed as important. I’m sure he probably came across to others as peculiar. (Galatians 1:10-12).
