Always Give Thanks

We can only imagine what it must have been like for Jonah as he sat in darkness within the great fish’s belly not just for a day but for three days and three nights. Jonah called it hell to be there and with the voice of thanksgiving did he pray to the Lord and the fish then vomited him onto dry land. (Jonah Chapter 2).

Why is it some wait to praise and give God thanks after being released from a tragedy or when in need of something. It is thankworthy to wake up and be given another day of life! another chance to teach and learn of the one who by His grace has saved our soul. (Colossians 3:15-17).  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

For those who are looking forward to heaven they will not think it odd that there will be many who will be praising God and saying Amen to all He stands for! (Revelation 7:9-12). After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

There is so much every day to be thankful for, but the most thankful thing is for the truth of God that is revealed to the believer who has accepted Him (1 Thessalonians 2:13).  For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. (Psalm 100:2-4).
