“Seek First the Kingdom of God,” the Government of the Invisible Spirit

The phrase “kingdom of God” has been used so much by so many people from so many different religious backgrounds that its real meaning may have been lost.  Heretofore, most  have understood the phrase to mean “God’s kingdom,” or the kingdom that belongs to Him.  And this is true, it does belong to Him and His children.  However, there is another way to look at that phrase, and that is “the kingdom of the Spirit.”

      • I don’t mean to seem trivial, but we’ll have to disagree on the condition you refer to in your reply.

In my opinion, souls are eternally divine by nature and therefore at the end of a persons life, return by leaving the body to return to its source of divinity…God. For me, the person and soul are separated by death. And in the afterlife the person and their behavior is adjudicated as righteous or not before God.
        Be blessed…

      • You are not being trivial, only stating how you believe. I agree a person and their soul are separated at death, and our souls return unto God who gave it as Ecclesiastes 12:7 teaches.

You refer to Repentance as “a condition” you do not agree with. It is this condition of repenting God expects of us, it shows God we are sorry for our sins. He wants no one to perish, but to repent. ( 2 Peter 3:9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

We do not receive the Holy Spirit without repenting. Paul knew of the importance of repenting as he taught one receives the Holy Spirit by doing so. (Acts 2:38) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

I have never read our souls are divine by nature. If our souls were then Adam and Eve would not have been tempted by the serpent, because they would of known the difference of good and evil and never would have had to make a choice if they were divine and were as God.

I agree when we die we will be judged whether good or evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:13,14).

        Be Blessed

      • I apologize, I only meant to clarify my position, but I will state I find your parsing of my comment to be in error predicated on the entire context. Never had I stated that “metanoia was not required” to obtain God’s grace and spiritual reconnection. It may have started twenty years earlier, two weeks or two mins prior to someone’s death thus the adjudication before Christ becomes weighed by Christ knowing the unknowable factor by humankind. I posit further, Christ will know a person’s true intent at their utterance.

I have no egotistical hunger to debate in the fields of Anthropology, Apologetics via biblical quotes of growing and diluting various versions, Ontology, 4- pillars of Theologies, Morality, Ethics, Evangelism, Discipleship, Biblical and or historical evolution and scholarly understanding of modern scriptures. I surrender and will refrain from commenting what I believe is correct and digress. Judge me as you will.

I send you many blessing. Be well.
